Make a dynamic QR code
A dynamic QR code is one whose destination you can change after printing. At Scanotte the first one is free, with no trial that runs out.
Fill in the fields to see your QR.
Static QR: free and works forever, but it can't be edited and its scans aren't counted.
Make an editable version with statisticsHow does a dynamic QR code work?
The code doesn’t hold your destination but a short Scanotte address, /r/ followed by a code. On every scan, Scanotte redirects to the page you chose and counts the scan.
Changing the destination doesn’t touch the pattern: printed codes follow straight away. The difference from a regular code is in static vs dynamic.
Which types of code can be dynamic?
Those that lead to a web address: link, Google review and WhatsApp. Wi-Fi, business card, e-mail and text stay static, because the phone reads them directly without going through the web.
For contact details that change often, an editable multi-link page beats a static business card.
What do the statistics show?
Total scans and the last 7 days, a daily chart, the split by device and system, approximate country, the date of the last scan, and an estimate of the number of people.
For each scan, Scanotte records the date, the type of device, the operating system and the approximate country. It never keeps the IP address and sets no cookie on the people who scan; link previews (WhatsApp, Slack…) aren’t counted. More in QR codes and GDPR.
How much does it cost?
Static QR codes are free and unlimited. For editable QR codes with statistics: 1 is free, then Starter at €6.90 a month (15 editable QR codes), Pro at €12.90 a month (100) or Business at €39 a month (500). Billed yearly, that’s €5.90, €11 and €33 a month.
Statistics go back 30 days on the free plan, 90 days with Starter and one year with Pro and Business, which add CSV export and team access (3 and 5 people). Refunds can be requested from your account within 14 days of a payment.
What happens if I stop paying?
If you stop paying, nothing dies overnight: whatever fits the free plan keeps working as usual, and the rest keeps redirecting, read-only, for 12 months before showing an “expired” page. Picking a plan again brings everything back.
In practice, your oldest codes, up to the free plan’s limits, stay fully usable; the others are frozen, then expire after 12 months. How that compares with trials that cut off is covered in do QR codes expire?.
Can I see where the code used to point?
Yes, Scanotte keeps a history of each code’s destinations, so you know where it led at any given time. Handy when several people manage the same codes.
With Pro or Business, teammates share the same codes, links and plan: 3 people with Pro, 5 with Business.
