QR Code Generator Pro alternative
QR Code Generator is one of the most visible sites when you search for a “free QR code”. Its trial has a quirk worth knowing before you print anything.
What happens when QR Code Generator’s trial ends?
According to its official help centre, dynamic codes made during the trial are deactivated when it ends and point to a page of the service; they’re reactivated if you subscribe. A code printed during the trial can therefore stop leading to your destination.

How does Scanotte work?
Static codes are free and unlimited, with no trial and no account. One editable code with statistics is included for free, with no time limit; see the dynamic QR code.
Static QR codes are free and unlimited. For editable QR codes with statistics: 1 is free, then Starter at €6.90 a month (15 editable QR codes), Pro at €12.90 a month (100) or Business at €39 a month (500). Billed yearly, that’s €5.90, €11 and €33 a month.
What if I stop paying at Scanotte?
If you stop paying, nothing dies overnight: whatever fits the free plan keeps working as usual, and the rest keeps redirecting, read-only, for 12 months before showing an “expired” page. Picking a plan again brings everything back.
The general logic is explained in do QR codes expire?.
What about other services?
The table shows official prices recorded on 23 October 2026 at other QR code services, with what they do after cancellation when their page says so. Prices are in US dollars, as listed.
For each one in detail, see the QR TIGER alternative and Hovercode, Uniqode, Unitag.
| Service | Official price (checked 23 Oct 2026) | After cancelling |
|---|---|---|
| Scanotte | Starter €6.90/month, €5.90/month yearly (15 editable codes) | Free plan keeps working; the rest redirects 12 months |
| Hovercode | Pro: $12/month or $120/year | Only 3 dynamic codes stay active |
| Uniqode | Basic: $9/month, billed yearly | QR codes become inactive |
| QR TIGER | Regular: $7/month (12 dynamic codes) | Not stated on the page checked |
| QR Code Generator | Not recorded | Dynamic codes deactivated when the trial ends |
Where are the others better?
Bigger services often offer more code types, integrations and team options. Scanotte has no bulk creation from a CSV file, no custom domain and no API.
Scanotte sticks to the essentials: links, Google reviews, WhatsApp, Wi-Fi, business cards, short links and multi-link pages, with cookie-free statistics.
How do I switch without breaking my printed codes?
A dynamic code can’t be transferred: it holds the original service’s address. Create the new codes, replace them as you reprint, and keep the old subscription during the transition if the old codes must keep working.
The method is in editing a printed QR code.
