QR code for Google reviews

Happy customers are more likely to leave a review when they don’t have to search. This code opens the review box for your business on Google directly.

Fill in the fields to see your QR.

Static QR: free and works forever, but it can't be edited and its scans aren't counted.

Where do I find my business’s Place ID?

The Place ID is Google’s identifier for your business. Google provides it through its Place ID finder in the official documentation (developers.google.com, “Place IDs” page).

Type your business name, copy the ID — it often starts with “ChIJ” — and paste it into the field above. Scanotte turns it into Google’s official review link.

Static or editable for a review code?

Static is enough if you only want to send people to the review page. Editable counts scans and lets you change the destination later, for example if you move premises.

Static QR codes are free and unlimited. For editable QR codes with statistics: 1 is free, then Starter at €6.90 a month (15 editable QR codes), Pro at €12.90 a month (100) or Business at €39 a month (500). Billed yearly, that’s €5.90, €11 and €33 a month.

Still unsure? Read static vs dynamic.

Where should I put it so it actually gets used?

Where customers have a moment: at the till, on the bill, on the table, on a card handed over with the order. Add a simple line above it, like “Your review helps us”.

In a restaurant it sits naturally next to the menu QR code or the Wi-Fi code.

What do the statistics show?

With an editable code you see scans per day and over the last 7 days, device type, operating system and approximate country. Give two spots their own code each and compare them.

For each scan, Scanotte records the date, the type of device, the operating system and the approximate country. It never keeps the IP address and sets no cookie on the people who scan; link previews (WhatsApp, Slack…) aren’t counted.

Can I reward customers for reviews?

No: Google’s rules forbid offering anything in return for a review, and consumer protection rules in many countries cover fake or incentivised reviews too. Just ask, with no strings attached.

Ask everyone the same way, rather than only the customers you know are happy.

How do I ask without being pushy?

Keep it short and human: a line on the receipt or a word at the till when someone thanks you. The code does the rest by removing the search step.

Reply to reviews, good and bad, on your Google listing: it shows future customers that someone reads them.
