QR codes for your wedding
One small square on the invitation and your guests find everything: the venue, where to RSVP, the shared photo album. Here are the uses that genuinely help, and the ones to skip.
Fill in the fields to see your QR.
Static QR: free and works forever, but it can't be edited and its scans aren't counted.
Make an editable version with statisticsWhat should the invitation’s QR code lead to?
Most useful is the page where guests RSVP: attending or not, plus-ones, dietary needs. The code saves them typing an address and saves you chasing replies.
To collect those RSVPs, Minibon also offers online invitations with RSVPs; you can put your RSVP page link into the code on your printed invitation.
One code or several?
Preferably one: it leads to a multi-link page with buttons like “RSVP”, “Venue”, “Where to stay”, “Gift list”. The invitation stays elegant and nobody scans the wrong code.
The venue is a Google Maps link. The multi-link page is editable, so you can add the photo album after the big day without reprinting anything.
Which codes help on the day?
On tables or the seating plan: a code to the shared photo album where everyone drops their pictures, one to the playlist, and maybe the venue’s Wi-Fi code.
Create the album first in the service of your choice (Google Photos, iCloud…) with a share link, then make the code for that link. Scanotte doesn’t host photos.
How do I make it pretty without making it unreadable?
Use a colour from your stationery if it’s dark enough, rounded dots, and perhaps your initials, small, in the centre. Details in the QR code with a logo.
Before printing: dark dots on a light background, at least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) wide, a small logo if any, and a test with two different phones. Print a proof at home before sending files to the printer, and give them the SVG.
Static or editable for a wedding?
If all your links are ready and won’t move, free static codes are enough. If invitations go out before everything is settled, an editable code (1 included in the free plan) lets you change the destination after posting.
If you stop paying, nothing dies overnight: whatever fits the free plan keeps working as usual, and the rest keeps redirecting, read-only, for 12 months before showing an “expired” page. Picking a plan again brings everything back.
Does a QR code work on save-the-dates?
Yes, and an editable one is ideal there: at save-the-date stage the wedding website or RSVP page often isn’t finished. Print the code now and point it to the final page later.
Keep the essentials — names, date, town — printed in plain text: the code adds detail, it doesn’t replace the card.
Frequently asked questions
Will older guests manage to scan?
Many will, but not all. Always print the essentials (date, venue, how to RSVP) in plain text too.
Does a wedding QR code cost anything?
Not as a static code. One editable code and one multi-link page are also included in the free plan.
Does Scanotte handle RSVPs?
No, Scanotte makes the codes and links. RSVPs are handled by an invitation service, such as Invitotte from Minibon.
How big on an invitation?
At least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) wide, with a white margin around it. Test it on a printed proof.
