Google Maps QR code

A guest, a customer, a courier: they scan, the map opens on the right spot and they start directions. The code simply holds the place’s share link.

Fill in the fields to see your QR.

Static QR: free and works forever, but it can't be edited and its scans aren't counted.

How do I make a QR code for a Google Maps location?

Find the place in Google Maps, tap “Share” and copy the link. Paste it into the link generator at the top of the page: your code is ready.

Scanotte has no dedicated “location” type: a maps link works with the link generator like any web page.

Does it work on an iPhone without Google Maps?

Yes, a Google Maps link opens in the browser if the app isn’t installed. People see the place and can start directions from there.

If your audience mostly uses Apple Maps or Waze, a multi-link page with one button per app lets everyone choose.

Where is a location code useful?

On wedding or party invitations, an event flyer, a tradesperson’s card, a site board, a holiday-let welcome book, an appointment confirmation.

For a business, it pairs well with the Google review code: one helps people come, the other helps them review after the visit.

Static or editable for a location?

A fixed address only needs a free static code. If the place might change (venue not confirmed yet, a rotating market, a pop-up shop), an editable code lets you fix it after printing.

Static QR codes are free and unlimited. For editable QR codes with statistics: 1 is free, then Starter at €6.90 a month (15 editable QR codes), Pro at €12.90 a month (100) or Business at €39 a month (500). Billed yearly, that’s €5.90, €11 and €33 a month.

How do I make sure it points to the right spot?

Test the link from another phone before printing: some links copied on a computer lead to a search rather than the exact place. Sharing from the place’s own page usually gives the most precise link.

Before printing: dark dots on a light background, at least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) wide, a small logo if any, and a test with two different phones.

What about places that are hard to find?

For a hidden entrance, a car park or a meeting point in the countryside, share a dropped pin rather than the postal address: in Google Maps, a long press on the map drops a pin you can share.

If the way in needs explaining, a multi-link page can offer the map, a photo of the entrance as a link, and your WhatsApp. All of it stays editable if access changes.

Frequently asked questions

Is a location QR code free?

Yes as a static code, with no account and no expiry date.

Can I point to GPS coordinates?

Yes, through a Google Maps link to those coordinates: the generator accepts any web link.

Does the code start directions straight away?

It opens the place; the person then taps “Directions”. The maps app handles that step.

Can I count scans?

Yes with an editable code: date, device, system and approximate country, with no IP address or cookie.
